This figure series shows the anatomical basis and insertion of a peroneal (fibular) artery perforator flap. Both proximal and distal perforators are shown on the peroneal artery, as these are the two most predominant locations for reliable preforator harvest from the peroneal artery. This type of autologous flap is a candidate for an osteomyocutaneous combined perforator flap for the reconstruction of a composite defect.
